Future SELPH: our young people's website has a new home

The Future SELPH website has had a refresh, and a new home. We’ve rebuilt the site and moved it into the same environment as the other two websites Conexus Healthcare runs: conexus-healthcare.org and https://socialprescribingqualification.org.uk.

For young people, families and professionals, the service itself hasn’t changed. The same teams, the same free support, the same web address. What’s changed is the site behind it, which is now easier to use, more reliable and simpler for us to keep up to date.

We’re incredibly proud of the support offered through Future SELPH. It showcases the power of partnership working and what can be achieved when organisations come together with a clear, shared purpose. The website is a key part of that vision, reflecting the collective commitment to providing young people with accessible, high-quality support and information.

What Future SELPH is for

Future SELPH is a free mental and emotional wellbeing service for young people aged 16 to 25 in the Wakefield District. It’s commissioned by Conexus Healthcare and open to any young person registered with a Wakefield District GP practice.

We know from listening to young people that some services don’t quite fit, or can feel hard to get into. Future SELPH was developed to address this gap. Four community youth teams across the district offer support that is free, confidential and shaped around each person, including:

  • One-to-one support, in person or online
  • Optional small group sessions, workshops and volunteering opportunities
  • Help with things like managing anxiety, making friends, and doing well in work or training
  • Support while you’re on a waiting list for other services

Where you live, what you’ve been through and how you come to us is never a barrier. Young people can refer themselves, parents and carers can help them get in touch, and anyone working with young people in the district can make a referral.

The website is the gateway to this support.

What's changed, and why

Future SELPH now sits in the same web environment as our Conexus Healthcare and Social Prescribing Qualification websites. All three are hosted and supported in one place, by one provider.

That gives us some clear benefits:

  • One consistent web address. Previously, some Future SELPH pages opened on a different platform’s address rather than futureselph.co.uk. Now every page sits on the Future SELPH address, so visitors always know they’re in the right place.
  • A site that’s easier to use. The rebuild has made information clearer and quicker to find, whether you’re a young person, a parent or a professional.
  • Stronger oversight. Having our websites under one arrangement means consistent standards for security, accessibility and how information is handled across everything we run.

What this means for you

It means that things are easier to find, there is less duplication and our location maps work consistently.  There is also a new look referral form.

If you use Future SELPH, or refer young people to it, you don’t need to do anything. Support has carried on as normal, and you can still reach your local team in the usual way.

The new site is live at the same address: futureselph.co.uk. It may look a little different, but the teams, the support and the ways to get in touch are all still there. If you’ve bookmarked an old page link, you may need to update it.

Need support now?

If you’re aged 16 to 25, registered with a GP in the Wakefield District, and finding things tough, visit futureselph.co.uk to find your nearest community team and refer yourself. Once we hear from you, a team will be in touch within a few days.

If you’re a parent, carer or professional, the site also has everything you need to help a young person get in touch.

Take a look around the new site. We’d love to hear what you think.
