Menopause and Perimenopause

A relaxed group clinic for women who think they may be going through perimenopause or menopause. It is led by a GP with specialist training and a special interest in menopause.

Who is this group clinic for?

  • Women aged 40 to 55 who may be starting perimenopause or menopause.
  • Women not currently taking HRT, and who have not taken it in the last two years.

If you have any unexpected bleeding, please speak to your GP practice.

What we cover

  • Common symptoms, and what is normal for you.
  • Hot flushes, sleep, mood and brain fog.
  • Vaginal dryness and other intimate symptoms.
  • HRT and other treatment options, including benefits and risks.
  • Heart health, with a blood pressure and weight check.
  • Bone and muscle strength, and staying active.
  • Food, drink and everyday lifestyle changes.
  • Anything else you would like to raise on the day.

On the day

  • A one-to-one discussion with the specialist GP, within the group.
  • If you and the GP agree on a treatment, your prescription is sorted on the day.
  • If you need more support, we will arrange a follow-up with our women's health team.

Before your session

  • Fill in the short questionnaire we send you by text. It helps the GP prepare for your review.
  • Make a note of your symptoms and anything you would like to ask.
  • Bring a list of any medicines or supplements you take.
  • Let us know about any family history of breast cancer, heart disease or blood clots.
  • Please arrive 10 minutes early so we can start on time.
